Going shopping? First stop…Your closet!
I love designer-wear and certainly do have my favourite designers. Among them are Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, etc…But we get more bang for our buck by mixing up high and low fashion price points.
Invest in coats, jackets, dresses, classic cuts in pants, handbags and other accessories, but get your basics and fashion trend items from many other sources. My favourite places to shop for trend basics that extend my wardrobe are Zara, Simons, Dynamite, H&M and Express. These shops carry trends at a fraction of designer prices. Moderately-priced fashion pieces at these shops have endless possibilities in mixing it up with your investment pieces and closet staples.
During a recent J-Vest fashion shoot, my models from 20s to 60s age range all loved my longer lengthening vest coats and light, long cloth coats and sweaters. They’re great for both layering and stand-alone items that flatter all body types. AND they are all available at every price point.
